Post gym meal, chocolate protein shake, bowl of fruit with fresh orange juice and a bowl of bran flakes (not pictured)
It’s 9am and I’ve been at the gym since 6.30am, I’ve done cardio training, the power plate, resistance, weights, swim and to top it off a few minutes in the steam room and sauna.
I won’t fall off the fitness wagon again. MOTIVATION! :D
SLENDERTONE! Possibly my favourite shape up tool ever. It uses electrical impulses to stimulate your stomach muscles (as if you were doing situps). Half an hour every day, within a week I’ve usually lost an inch or two, and gained visible muscle tone. An easy way to look slimmer quite quickly and shape muscle without becoming unfeminine. Have to keep it up though cus the results can disappear just as quick.
Yaaay new graze box! They have a new range of ‘dips’ too.
In this one I have Crunchini Basilico whih is little crunch bread things with a basil oil dip, only 80 calories!
Barbecue Pistachios (Yum! Anything BBQ flavoured is a plus for me) but they’re 185 calories which is steep for a snack as I can only have 1200 cals a day.
Apple Crumble (115 cals) apple, sultanas and cinnamon honey almonds.
Rustic marble bread (109 cals) with seeds and whole grains, tomato, herb and provolone cheese. I’m so happy to have something cheesy in here!
Looking forward to trying all of these out :D
Anyone who knows me at all knows that if I have a chance to do any of my hobbies virtually or via a console I will jump at it.
I’ve wanted an excuse to get a Kinect for a while and it seems like the perfect way to tone up on my rest days. They’ve got loads of dance and Zumba games too, this is specifically a fitness course, you get achievements for beating certain goals and things like that so its great for motivation! Looking forward to trying this out tonight.
Great gym session.
So I’ve signed up for Bannetynes Health Center in Shrewsbury now, it is possibly the most equipped and high tech gym I’ve ever been to. Glorious! I have another 2 free sessions before I need to sign up for a member ship.
Started off in the changing rooms, they were incredibly large and spacious, each locker having its own mirror and hairdryer (all in working order too!) We got changed into our gym attire and walked upstairs, we passed 3 or 4 large rooms with mirrors and mats, all being used and full with busy gym bunnies. There was a spinning room filled with bikes, a blue yoga room and a yellow aerobics room. The door at the end led to the actualy gym, it was MASSIVE. On the left side you had nearly 30 different types of resistance toning equipment, weights and such (lots of men on this side) in the middle you had the cycling, elliptical machines and cross trainers, and on the ride side you had the treadmills and yoga balls and ab crunchers etc. They even had a power plate! The room was all windows, with lovely views onto the hills surround shrewsbury.
Anyway I started off with 15 minutes on the readmill, intermittent walking at 6kmph and running at 10kmph. All the treadmills had touchscreen TVs attatched, so you could watch Sky channells or even play solitaire while you ran. I didnt make use of these though cus I had my playlist. The belt was nice and smooth, and there was plenty of shock absorbtion so even my shins felt better. This gym uses the Technogym equipment. Expensive, but very very good. I then did 10 minutes on the cross trainer which RUINED me. and 10 minutes on the exercise bike.
Onto swimming, I forgot how much I loved swimming, its been years. The pool was large, in 3 sections, I went in the fast lane of course. There was also a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna to the side. I did 28 lengths in 30 minutes which I was really impressed and happy with, and according to MyFitnessPal I burned nearly 300 calories doing it. I felt toned and pleasantly achey all over.
Then I went into the steam room which was amazing, had this herby lavender smell and I felt all my tension just fall away, same with the sauna too. Then had 10 minutes in the jacuzzi, got out, got ready and went home for tuna sanwiches.
Aiming to do this twice a week, with the other days spent concrete running.
Well my day started off pretty well, breakfast consisted off my usual porridge topped with dried fruit, actimel yogurt and a banana. Lunch was a boots meal deal (under 500 cals) but then my nan made me a massive dinner and afterwards I had two twirl bars, a kit kat and a timeout bar. CRAP.
Plus I havent been to the gym for a few days and I havent ran because of the pain in my shins.
Bad Jess.
Anyway I remain positive, stealing my Nans plus one to her gym (that has a pool) tomorrow so i can get some good all over toning done.
So according to the pain in my shins, I wont be running for a little while, annoying as I’m still really up for it. So currently I am doing as much as I can at the gym that doesnt involve putting stress of my joints. I’m going swimming with my nan on Tuesday, apparently she can do 40 lengths a session, if I cant beat her I will feel somewhat ashamed!
I’ve been fairly good this week, absolutely no junk food at all! I did have a sneaky cadbury flake yesterday but you can always have a treat or two sometimes right?
Putting up a Week Two progress pic tomorrow!
